Renewal Nook
The Renewal Nook at Summa Health's Barberton campus is a spa-like sanctuary to help cancer patients care for their body and mind, while focusing on something other than their cancer treatment.
Cancer affects every part of life: body, mind and sense of self.
The Renewal Nook at Summa Health's Barberton Campus was designed with one purpose: to help cancer patients care for their body and mind, while helping to regain a sense of self.
Built in partnership with the Comunale Cancer Foundation, this spa-like sanctuary invites patients to leave the clinical side of their care at the door and simply be taken care of. The Renewal Nook contains:
-
a wig salon
-
therapeutic massage
- consult space
- artistic healing
The Renewal Nook is a reminder that patients are far more than their diagnosis and deserve to feel that way, even in the middle of treatment.
We are honored to help bring this space to life, and to ensure that every person who walks through that door leaves feeling a little more like themselves.
Thank you to our partner.

Wig Salon
Patients experiencing hair loss can choose from a beautiful selection of wigs at no cost, with hands-on help for fitting, styling and care. Wigs are also available at Summa's main campus, ensuring access for as many patients as possible.
Therapeutic Massage
A trained therapist provides gentle, personalized massage sessions designed to ease anxiety, reduce nausea, improve sleep, and promote deep relaxation. Each session is tailored specifically to the patient in a calm and supportive setting.
Consult Space
A quiet, private room where patients and families can have real conversations about care plans, nutrition, emotional support, or even legal matters. This space is open to anyone with a cancer diagnosis, regardless of where they receive treatment.
Artistic Healing
Creative expression is a powerful tool for processing the emotions that come with a cancer journey. Free art kits, coloring materials, and workshops are available to patients and caregivers alike, made possible through the Comunale Cancer Foundation's support.
