Foundation Program
Jane's Sunshine Fund
Each year, we are honored to deliver more than 200 Sunshine Fund grants. These are the moments that remind someone they are seen and loved. This program provides thoughtful, meaningful small grants to individuals and families impacted by cancer — not to pay a bill, but to lift a spirit.
Bringing light to cancer patients through small, meaningful grants.
The Sunshine Fund was established in 2012 in honor of Jane Fawcett Comunale. It was created on a simple but powerful belief: that even in the darkest seasons, small moments of joy can make an enormous difference.
A Sunshine Fund grant might look like:
-
a bouquet of flowers delivered "just because."
-
a gift card to a favorite restaurant for a rare night out.
-
a DoorDash card for a cozy, effortless evening at home.
-
a lift chair or adaptive item to make daily life more comfortable.
-
tickets to the Zoo for an afternoon of family fun and fresh air.
-
a trip to a museum.
-
movie theater tickets.
-
a spa or massage visit to melt away some of the stress that cancer inevitably brings.
These are small acts but to someone in the middle of a cancer crisis, they are anything but small. For those facing cancer, please know — you deserve these moments and we want to give them to you.
